Noob needs a new humi =)

Hey guys!
I need a new humi =)
I was thinking about getting a cooler and line it... but it looks like it going to be too much work and too much dinero...
I was thinking about getting a 300-400 cts... searched ebay and found a ok one for about 65 shipped...
is this a good deal? or can I get something like this cheaper elsewhere?
I kinda like humidors with drawers... Anyone know where I can score one of these for cheap ideally around 50 bucks...
Any members wanna get rid of their "small" humi?

Thanks guys

Sorry I cannot post the link from ebay...

You can also keep your eyes out for an imperfect on Cheap Humidors
Imperfect Humidors: Cheap Humidors Cigar Humidor Cigar Accessories CheapHumidors.com

This company has a good reputation on Puff, and my personal experience with them has been great. It took me 2 hours to locate the imperfection on my humidor and it holds humidity great.

Re: Noob needs a new humi =)

I am pretty sure that you could get a cooler set up for $50 or less. I purchased a Coleman 50 qt on sale for $25. A 1/2lb of Heartfelt beads is $18.14. I bought a digital hygrometer from Walmart for $7.99. That's pretty much all you need. If you only have singles and no boxes then you can get yourself some empty cigar boxes from your local B&M, they often give them away for a few bucks a piece or if you a regular there they may just give them to you. No need to line the cooler with cedar.

Hope this helps.

For a serious budget, a cooler and a little work is hard to beat. If a crafted humidor is what you have to get, I second the "Imperfects" at CheapHumidors.com.

Honestly, I wish I would have jut gone the coolidor route. I bought a nice 125 count imperfect from Cheap Humidors for $60. It looks great, but I can already see it will be filled shortly. Now I am looking to put together a big coolidor. Maybe do the cheap coolidor then look for a killer deal on the humidor you want.

It really depends on how you buy your cigars. Do you just by singles and samplers, or do you buy by the box?

I have a 100 count humi, and its already starting to fill up on just singles and samplers. If I bought a box of cigars right now Id have no where to put them.

+ to an imperfect humidor from Premium Humidors. Mine is beautiful and under $50 for a 100ct humidor is a great deal.

+1 Great post, Jeff!

This is really all you need to know. Stay away from no-name humis on ebay. They are typically off-shore knock-offs and not worth the money. They may look good in pics, but not in your livingroom. You are not gonna find a decent 300ct humi for $50, unless it's used and the seller REALLY likes you.

Go cooler.

Re: Noob needs a new humi =)

Those CheapHumidor imperfects are just fine (I have one), they claim only visual imperfection and guarantee the seal/etc, test and hold them up to the guarantee and its will be fine. Believe me, you'll be adding your share of scratches and drool marks so a few to begin with are OK

Just be careful of the *bay - ensure you're getting a proper guarantee on the seal and lining etc.

And the final word is - there is no such thing as "enough humidor space". No matter what you get, it will never be enough
Rated sizes are usually 2/3 of real-world capacity, I think they fill it with matchsticks and count those. Check the actual interior dimensions, subtract space used by trays etc. But back to the earlier point, its never going to be enough.
