Gel Jar to Cigar Ratio

Just curious...

I know many use heartfelt beads and I will purchase them in the future, but for those who have used or use now the 2oz jel jars, how many do you use per the amount of cigars stored...

I read all kinds of conflicting data on this and was curious if there is an overall consensus or standard...

Re: Gel Jar to Cigar Ratio

I use to use gel and I had two 2oz jars for about 150 cigars it worked fine but I think if had another 2oz jar it would have been better. I got my gel from the devil site.

Re: Gel Jar to Cigar Ratio

Are gel jars good for keeping humidity down as well as raising it?

Re: Gel Jar to Cigar Ratio

I think your right mc2712...

I have a 100 count humidor and I have two 2oz jars in there and one drymistat tube and my humidor stays at a perfect 65%...

While some sites state 1 jar is good for 150 cigars, I don't think that is accurate or true. If it is, it must be for "ideal conditions" like a small tupperdor...

@edogg - I never had it go past 66% but if I open my humidor for too long, and drops below 60% it brings it back up to 65% pretty soon. I don't know if that answers your question or not... I have a 2oz jar in 20 count humidor and it stays at 65% as well...
