extreme accuracy of hygrometer

So I was at the lab of a local university to visit one of my old professors today. (Columbia University), where I received my masters.
We were talking about weather and things, and I asked him if he had any accurate hygrometers. He had a few. I asked him if I could borrow one for a day or two, and he gave me one that he says costs about 2000 dollars or more.
Its from Hart scientific (Fluke) 1620.
Anyway, I rotated it for about a half hour each between my hygrometers which are using caliber 3,s in it. Some humis I use two, one for bottom, one for top.
First let me say all my caliber 3,s are withing one rh degree of each other, if put in the same place.
Well after 15 minutes in with each humi, it was within one degree on each of the caliber 3.s. It was amazing
So for 15 bucks you can get the accuracy of a 1500 dollar hygrometer. I get them on cigar extras , four for sixty dollars. Very pleased, and now confirmed accuracy.

Typically I am of the motto "You get what you pay for" but it's good to know that there are some exceptions to the rule from time to time.

I like that kind of accuracy since I tend to be a bit AR at times. I worry about my gars but with beads I feel pretty good. I'd sure like to have the added security of knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt and I will check ino the hygros you talked about.

I have moved a bit from AR and straight into obsessive at times. I use beads along with my digital hygrometer also. Can't be too careful in my opinion.
