Ye gads there is mold in my humidor!

How could this happen? It's autumn, the humis are drier than usual, and it is pretty damn stable inside this 'dor.

Luckily the only victim so far seems to be a single Cohiba Maduro 5 Magicos that I was saving. I have quarantined the patient and will be observing it intensely.

No sign of spores on some of my other precious smokes. This was the "good stuff" humidor, so I was pretty panicked. What a drag! I just checked this humidor like a week ago and there were no signs!

I was able to stave off a mold attack once, long ago, and hopefully this outbreak will die out quickly, too. I guess the only proper way to ensure no further sticks are ruined is to smoke them all before any mold has a chance to take hold.

What a shame...I was really trying to save these sticks!

That sucks about the mold, how much mold does it take before a cigar is ruined anyway? I'd think that just a few spots here and there could be wiped off.

Yeah it's mold...white fuzzy crap. Not very much...I just wiped it off. I will smoke this stick no problem, mold be damned! It's weird because this stick has been in there since January, no problems...and all of a sudden it gets all furry within 1-2 weeks. Odd.

I had a similar case show up once before, I just wiped it off the stick, isolated the perp, and never had another problem again.

I am using beads.
