Re: In need of a cutter!

I have Xikar slim cutter and like it a lot. What's nice is that It fits in my wallet so I don't have to have another loose item in my pocket. Xikars have very good warranty too.

Have a Palio, and a Cuban Crafters (Perfect Cut model). As a fellow newb I can recommend the Cuban Crafters perfect cut model - I keep going back to it - it cuts just the right amount off without setting on a flat surface or guesswork.

Re: In need of a cutter!

I have guillotines from both Palio and Xikar (Xi1). Both do a great job, and you can find both the Palio and Xi2 for less than $40 with lifetime warrentees.

I have a Cuban Crafters Punch cutter that seems well made - zero complaints so far. CC cutters seem to be protected under a lifetime warrentee as well. The only thing I don't like about the CC perfect cut model would be the inability to make a second cut towards the end of the smoke if that's your thing.

Re: In need of a cutter!

I personally like the the Wolf V-Cut. Xikar makes it. The V is inverted so it does not poke the cap or tears it.

I've had good luck with the Xikar MTX scissors when I use it. I do 99% with a pocket knife.

Re: In need of a cutter!

Try different kinds so that you know which ones you prefer. You can always buy a cheap one until you find which cut suits you and then you can buy a really good one that has a lifetime warranty so you dont have to go out and buy a collection of them like I have done.

Re: In need of a cutter!

I have a cheapie $10 cutter that's been treating me well for a while that I picked up at a local smoke shop, but I think I got lucky. Next up is definitely the Wolf V-cut.

Best cutter made hands down! Plus the fact that it is made and sold by other BOTL is a real plus.

Re: In need of a cutter!

I would break down and spend 150$ and get one of each of the big 4. One punch, one guillotine, one V, and one siscor.

You will end up with more cutters then you need eventually might as well give in now.

I suggest the Palio for the guillotine, xikar for the punch and siscors, and wolf for the v.

Saves shipping and justifying to yourself if you just buy them all now.

I have a Xikar Xi cutter and love it and its only $30-40 and as mentioned before lifetime warranty which includes sharpening the blades if you would ever need that. When you register your cutter they send you a free sheath not that I will ever use it but its free

You should have added... "if you are lucky". I have been waiting on my sheath for about 2 years now. Terrible customer service if you ask me.

Signed,
Still waiting in South Carolina
