Do they make a lighter?

Do they make a butane torch lighter that has some type of locking mechanism, so that when you turn it on, you do not need to keep your thumb down on a device?
I would like this, so my fat thumb doesn get heated up and burned, especially outside when its windy.

Regards Jerry

My recommendation would be a lighter with a side trigger like the XiKar Executive. My XiKar Enigma also has one of these features, but is a double-flame lighter. I believe a lot of Blazers have a trigger that is away from the flame as well.

For home use, this torch has a locking mechanism.

I've read great things about the Dupont Extend. The price makes me wince though...

Blazer PB207 has a locking button. Also has a little rubber detachable base so it can stand upright for hands free use.

Jerry,

Pick up a kitchen torch from amazon or a kitchen store. One hand operation and has a safety button.

Amazon.com: Orka Kitchen Torch: Kitchen & Dining
Sam's Club - Bella Tavola Kitchen Torch - 2 Pack

Also handy for caramalization and cream brulee!

My wife has one in the house she uses for creme brulee and some other fancy stuff. I need something that fits in the cigar caddy, and wont explode in truck. But thanks anyway. I want to check out the one, the previous poster suggested.

Thanks, exactly like I am looking for. And at about 30 dollars not too expensive to buy 2. Nice fuel capacity also. Looks cool.

Much regards Jerry

Re: Do they make a lighter?

No problem. I've really enjoyed mine. Try to get the original PB207, I've heard the newer CR (child resistant) model is harder to manipulate.

Re: Do they make a lighter?

Most soldering torches will only have to be clicked down once - it will then stay on until you cut the flow of gas.

Yeah, but when you're in the park and some other anti-smoking idiot starts coughing and walking your way, whip that baby out, light one up, giggle a little bit and say "you're gonna burn, you're all gonna burn"!
