Purchasing a tower of power

Does anyone know if this humidor can be purchased at an retail establishment, where they will actually deliver it and set it up, like when you buy a piece of furniture.

I would really like one, but cant deal with a street delivery, and perhaps after delivered there is damage to the unit.

I want it delivered, the a/c d/c checked to make sure functioning, and then final payment rendered, just like furniture.

I live in the nyc tri state area. (New york, new jersey, connecticut)

Much regards Jerry

You have me laughing uncontrolably.
You sound like my faithfull companion.

I went to silicon one of my humidors around the glass so It wouldnt leach air, and I had to take the cigars and place in my other humidors.
Well, after doing this, I fit every one of them, but I had to take out shelves and mix and match the cigars, like that computer game with the dropping colored boxes, , and put in every which way, even box pressing a few on top to close the lid. LOL

I need one of those tower of powers, delivered.....
I am getting to old for street delivery.

I am not suppossed to lift anything heavy anymore, because of the 51 pieces of metal still left in my body, which start to move every once in a while, then I need surgery, to remove before it can cause a stroke and kill me. Sometimes the surgury is very risky, because the pieces are near my brain, my spine, major arterys. I am pretty messed up in my older age.
I feel mentally like I am in my twenties, feel in the late afternnoons, like I am in my forties, look like I am in my late forties, in the morning and late evening feel like I am eighty.

I have a weird daily cycle. So at this point I want to find somewhere where they will deliver something like this. I dont like to burden my children with these trivial things, and to tell you the truth, they have never seen me smoke in all my years. I actually keep it a secret from them, and wont smoke if they are over. I tell them the cigars are for my old battle buddies, and I collect them, and sell them for a profit on ebay. Ha ha ha

None of them to my knowledge has every smoked, and three have never had a coctail. Two I know drink beer and have an occassional coctail, but never get wasted.

Heres another truth to unload. And I say this proudly. I have never been to a strip club in my life, and have no desire to. And believe me, I do love the fairer species and everything about them. I can find something sexy on almost any female no matter what she looks like.
It could be here ear lobe, her eyebrow, her fingers, her smile, But never been to a strip club on principle. (I have some complicated principles. )

Maybee I will put in on my holiday list.
My family knows I am fussy on what I want. I hate with a passion gift certificates. To me it shows uncaring and thoughtless. Thats me.

So for the last twenty years, they ask me for a list for the holidays and for my birthday.

I give them a list with about forty items., priced from about 5 dollars to maybee 300 dollars. These are things I would not buy for myself.

They do good on this, and sometimes combine to get me good stuff. For my birthday this year they went overboard and got tired of me watching t.v. on a sixteen inch samsun t.v. and got me a beautuiful lcd television, along with a beautiful combo, vcr and dvd recorder.

Last year the all chipped in and got me a panasonci avic d 3 for my truck. I am gratefull for a five dollar book, or a certain keychain I have been coveting that I wouldnt buy for myself.

So, Maybee I will put this on the list. Not the purchase of it, but for two of them to be home, and take care of it for me. I will tell them its for my friends comfort. LOL I still need to convince the wife on this. Shes not against it, but not for it.

Sorry for my flapping my gums so much.

Re: Purchasing a tower of power

Have you ever considered purchasing a smaller cabinet? I got one from Daniel Marshall and I love it. It was about six hundred bucks, but he offered me a deal on the shipping so it ended up being far cheaper than some of those on line sites (shipping to Hawaii is very expensive). Regardless of who you buy it from, a "small" cabinet will fit a whole lot of cigars, and still be able portable enough to move up a bunch of stairs.

Good luck with the purchase Jerry!

As for flapping your gums, flap away. People as young as I am (23) are lucky to hear a more experienced perspective on life.

Oh and as for the game with the colored blocks, that's Tetris. Forever a classic

Re: Purchasing a tower of power

Don't know if you can find this service in NY but my neighbor arranged to have his humidor shipped to the people who delivered his dinning room furniture and for a small delivery fee they put it in his appartment. They didn't set it up but they hauled it up the three flights of stairs...best money he ever spent in my opinion.

Re: Purchasing a tower of power

The tower of power weighs around 250lbs, I'd say, maybe between 200 and 250. If that is the way you are going to go, watch and wait for it on cigarbid. Have your family members there with a hand truck. I can't attest to anything else, because I haven't seen any other big ones in action, but my ToP is air tight and only fluctuates by one to two rH points when I open it.
If I can answer any more questions about it, I'd be happy to. But if there is a better option for you, by all means, go with the better one.
The glass has no issues, as it is built into the cedar like a window, not just braced. If I could go back, I may have maybe done a vino temp instead, but if it came down to it, I may not have, just because of the convenience of it all.
The AC/DC is seperate, and could be change out with ease. I'm sure the supplier would replace it without question. It is a very minor piece, and does not come installed. (Four predrilled holes)

CBID? LOL, I dont think so.......

Well I enjoyed all the suggestions, and at this point I have decided to go with multiple large desktop(150 counts)
I have 11 humidors right now, and I have them basically separated by the cigar I like. One humi, filled with monte half coronas, three filled with r.p. vintage 90,s, etc. I am going to fill one with torano exodus silvers, two with rosario hand rolls. etc.
I will keep one 100 count for the singles I have now to try, and for the future singles I want to try, but maybee not.

I know some people think Its a pain to tend to so many humidors, but its like a hobby to me at this point, and it only requires five minutes a day, to open each humi, check the rh, and take a good sniff at my lovelies, and experience how they mature in the humidor, in their aroma.

Much regards Jerry

Jerry, sorry I have no advice for your power tower, but I must say-- love reading your posts. To go from humidors to strip club reservations in one post is quite entertaining. You are a man of intrigue for sure

Yeah thanks.
Sometimes I reread some of my posts and I cant even believe where my mind had wondered. I got to tighten up my brain thoughts a bit.....
I dont even remember the post you are speaking of, but if you say it is there, I wont deny it. I remember posting about strip clubs, but not reservations, but at this point ........
Maybee I should go to one, oneday and consider it "research"

Now there was a time I had r an r for two weeks, during my time in vietnam, and a few of my buddies went to morrocco instead of going to thailand, or back to the states. I have a great story about that and funny story, and sad story all in one, but I think it might be too hard core for the fourm and the moderators would probably be not too happy with me. ........But it is a doozy...Well maybee not a doozy, but an interesting short anecdote.
I havent thought of it for probably ten years now or so.

Much regards Jerry
