HUMIDOR question - PuroHumidors
Hello Cigar Aficionado's,
I'm in the market looking for a new cigar humidor. I have found a good deal on a used cigar humidor from purohumidors.com. The model i'm looking into is the Ambassador model from PUROHUMIDORS.COM. I've tried looking around on feedback about these humidors but can't seem to find anything. Is anyone familiar with purohumidors? Do they make a good quality product? Any feedback on this company/product would be great. Thanks in advance. ![]() |

Thanks for the response. Also, thanks for the greeting. I'm actually looking into buying a used one from someone my friend knows. He's asking about a 1/3rd of the original price - so it looks like a pretty good deal. I just want to know if anyone has had experienced with this company. ![]() |

Re: HUMIDOR question - PuroHumidors
I have only seen the Puro humidors at one of the big smokes years ago. They are manufactured in Argentina & sold by a US distributor. The craftsmanship looked nice at least on the surface. The samples I saw had a good fit & finish.
The electronics are provided by CMT-Habitat Monitor. If the humidor is more than 1 1/2 years old, the control is probably the original design HMF1 which is a green & beige control. I used that model in various versions for the humidors I build for over 10 years & have been very satisfied with performance over time. There are newer models of humidification that are now available that have more bells & whistles, but the original was a solid system. As I recall, the humidors were fairly pricey for what was rec'd. They did a lot of advertising in the CA magazine, which adds more than a dollar for marketing cost. At 1/3 of list, it's not a bad deal. Hope this helps. Cheers, Bob Staebell |
