Empty Humidor

Hey guys i got a new humi last week. My problem is i don't know if i can keep the old (empty one) without any humidification. Should i put a humidifier or beads in there or is it ok to keep dry??

Re: Empty Humidor

If you keep it dry it should be fine. You'll just have to re-season it when you want to use it again.

Keep it seasoned - You'll use it! It's amazing how humi's seem to fill up in a short time.

Re: Empty Humidor

Send it to me... I can fill it up.

That is... if I am alive after the next Amex bill hits. My wife will not be too happy. Pray that I survive her wrath... LOL

The Monster and Cigar.com have been evil... I can't stop.

Put beads in it...I wish I wouldn't have let mine dry out. When I needed it after ordering from the devil site...I had to wait to season it again.

Re: Empty Humidor

On the rare occasion one of my smaller boxes runs empty, I just toss a charged water pillow in it. As long as I don't open the box, it stays acceptably humidified for a couple months.

Re: Empty Humidor

+1 for leaving it humidified. When I wasn't using my 20ct box I just threw 2 dry-mistat tubes in there and left it closed.

Re: Empty Humidor

Or just put a shot glass with distilled water in there, that will keep it humidified untill you can fill it again.
