Fedex truck stopped by **cheaphumidors.com content inside**

Got my new imperfect Tuscany humidor from cheaphumidors.com today, already began seasoning it after inspecting it for 5 minutes. I cannot find a single nick, scratch, or ding on this thing. They must really be OCD about the condition of the humis they send out cause I dont see anything wrong with it. Couldnt be happier. And it should season in record time, slightly dampened the cedar, have half a pound of heartfelts in there, a xicar 250, xicar 50, 2 shot glasses full of distilled, and the big brick sponge humidifier that came with it all inside of there. Thats probably enough humidification equipment for 5 cubic feet, inside a box that is maybe 1 cubic foot max

Oh I know, I have this one and a 3 cubic foot display style that I built myself. But that one unfortunatly is having humidity issues, so i got this one. But once I get that one all sealed up Ill probably have enough capacity for 500+ cigars between the 2 humidors. And I still know eventually Ill need even more

I certainly appreciate the purchase, however if I may interject. You have WAAAAAY too much humidification inside that box. I know, I know, we all want things quickly and yesterday, but please don't ruin your poor humidor by being anxious. You need to allow the wood to come to equilibrium slowly, over the period of 7-10 days or so. By wiping it down, and throwing every known humidification device known to man you have a good chance of warping the wood, not causing all of the cedar to equlize, or worse, making it rain inside the darn thing.

Hope this helps and thanks again.

Good to know, I thought you really had to soak the wood to make it warp.

I did the overhumidification thing with my Cheaphumidors purchase almost a year ago. The seal strips warped and I had to spot-glue them to repair it. It holds just fine now, just thought I'd warn you so you don't end up looking for the reason your humi isn't holding and finding a quarter inch gap where the cedar has bowed out.

Yea Ive pulled out the beads, the big brick, and the small xicar. So now it just has the xicar 250 and a shot glass in it.

Re: Fedex truck stopped by **cheaphumidors.com content inside**

I got my humi from them and I added the Oveda seasoning kit to my order. It was grueling having to wait for the 7-10 day break-in but it's full now and the digital hygro is giving me good 69 - 71RH readings. I looked mine over too and found nothing; it didn't have the "swoosh" sound at closing and I expected it would not seal, but a flashlight test proved otherwise and I'm not having to make any adjustments yet.
