New humidor appears to have a major seal problem

I just bought a new 65 cigar humidor and it has 4 inner wall boards that create a lip at the top. The boards do not seal tight to one another or the inner walls of the box itself. Is this going to cause a humidity leak?

If the gap is large enough it could cause inconsistent rh levels.

First of all, Welcome to Puff! Please head over to the new puffer section and introduce yourself and familiarize yourself with the forum guidelines. Now onto your question. If you drop the lid and it just slams without any resistance, you "could" have a seal issue. You can also try the dollar bill test, use the search function to find out how to do that. Really you won't know for sure until you season the humidor. Again, use the search function to learn out how to properly season a new humidor. However, if you don't feel comfortable with your purchase, do as Tony suggests and ask for a replacement.

Welcome to Puff. I fixed this problem on my humidor as well and now my humidity is consistent.
I would go read the thread I linked below.
