Any one speak German?
I got this ashtray in an antique shop. It has German writing on it and I was wondering if any one could tell me what it says? I think the bottom writing says something like "the spirit is the cry"? maybe?


I love the look of this ashtray though.

Asbach uralt is a German brandy .. not bad if I remember right. So "is the spirit of the wines" would be apropos.

One of my favorite brandies, actually--and definitely my favorite in that price range.
