As far as Vern and Climmax, I have had good dealings with Vern in the past but my last order was lost. Vern felt bad for the delay and "took care of me." While many people in the cigar world know Vern personally, I do not, I only know him to do business with, I've placed four orders with him over the last two years, three of which were delivered in three days or less.

I have seen a few postings from others to the effect that Vern has suffered a few health related set backs recently and I have first hand knowledge that he is having problems from some of his suppliers with respect to hygrometers.

All that being said, yes, Vern seems to have some customer service issues at the present time but his I for one wish him a speedy recovery to his health which is probably the most important thing in one's life and once that's taken care of, I hope he can get Climmax's reputation back to where it used to be.

So yes, my last order was a little screwed up but at this point considering Vern's fine reputation in the "Cigar World" I cannot agree with statements like "I'll never do business with him ever again."

I would suggest that BEFORE you place an order with Vern, you contact him via email, ask him how he's doing and send him your best wishes and ask him if he can accomodate your order in a timely fashion. If you absolutely, positively cannot wait then do what you have to do but I for one think Vern is a stand up guy and wish him the best.

I for one wish Vern good health, I have first hand experience in health issues and hope he recovers 100%.

Viper, is that aluminum humidifier much heavier than an average 100+ count plastic humidifier? I'm wondering if the magnet in my box will hold it.

I'm also thinking about getting a drawstring bag, but I'm a bit worried about mold, which is why I don't want to throw them in a stocking either since I'm under the impression that "laundry" can lead to mold.
It weighs about the same as a plastic unit. The magnet that came with my plastic unit holds it just fine in the lid of my desktop humi.

The beads themselves do not promote mold growth. I have never had experience with mold on the beads but I guess anything is possible. The use of clean distilled water without impurities also defends against mold growth.

Man, if you find a magnet that will attract aluminum let me know, ok?

Does sound pretty stupid if you read it without assuming you glue the magnet to the aluminum.

Re: For those who have purchased from Climmax.com...

Just an update, Climmax doesn't seemed to have improved much. Put in an order mid April, waited two weeks and hadn't even been charged. Switched over to Viper at Hearfelt and was humidified by the end of the week.

Thanks again for the great service Viper
