Is the beetle threat as bad as it seems?

The past couple of days NYC had 80-85 degree weather and my humidor temp went up to about 87 according to my Caliber 2. Humidity was 68-71ish. My cigars come from JR Cigars on 5th Ave and famous-smoke on the web. Do I need to be worried about beetles? Are they that common?

Not yet? How long does it take? I thought once you went over about 80 you were at risk.

pinoyman i have to disagree with you. He should be concerned.

It is widely accepted that high temperatures is the main factor in beetle hatchings. They can even hatch in the 70's range!
Braxxxy you should try to keep the cigars a little cooler, and check them for signs of bugs every once in a while. Do a search on this and you will find some very good information. My thread may show up in your search. I had a small incident once that I was able to stop right at the begining. Good luck!

I agree with you nelson! what I ment by not yet is "Don't panic" just lower the temp. and it will help to lower the RH too.
