MiniFridge

I am looking at buying a mini fridge to become my new humidor.
I am not going to plug it up, so no need to change the termostat.
These are the two I am looking at right now.
The smaller one is $119 and the larger one is $159.

What do you guys think?

Re: MiniFridge

If you aren't going to plug it in then why spend the extra money? Get a 150qt cooler and turn in sideways or leave it flat. That would give you 5 cubic ft of space.

Re: MiniFridge

If you do it right the dor has more class than any coolerdor, but it will cost you more to get the same results.

You can get a new "beer refrig" for less than those prices and if you do not need the compressor you can find one used for about 20% of that.

Line it with cedar, add some beads and you got it made.

If you aren't going to plug it in, do what I did and find one that is not working. I didn't pay a dime for mine and it is the best humidor I've ever owned.

Re: MiniFridge

Since wine is also kept at a RH of 65% does anyone know if those wine coolers plugged in would keep your stogies in good shape just wondering. It sayys you can set the temp at 67 degrees.

Re: MiniFridge

I believe I am going to go with the wine cooler!
It will be about a month before I get it.

Anybody want to convince or stray me from this idea?

Nope, I use 65% beads and a fan for circulation.

Re: MiniFridge

I keep hearing about a fan for circulation and plan on putting one in my fridge (once I set it up). My question is why do we need a fan in a fridgeador but not in a humidor?

I do not have one in my tupperdor right now. Also; Will a cigar oasis be a better option? Sorry for the noo B questions.

Thanks
