Question Question about hygrometer by a newbie

Hi, I just bough a new humidor but the hygrometer is located on the front of my top drawer. How can I test it to be sure is calibrated besides buying a digital one or is it better to get a digital one. Thanks

Welcome to CS!! The search button has a wealth of info!!

Also, the digital hygrometer IMHO is better and more accruate than the standard dial hygrometer's. You can pick up a digital from http://www.littlehavanacigars.com/

Re: Question about hygrometer by a newbie

Digital really IS the only way to go however those little round Hygro's are sure pretty and they lend themselves to that "Classy" look however use those for looks and get a digital for functionality.

Agreed! Before I went Digital, I thought my smokes were fine with my analog
hygro. It read a perfect 70%, when I put a digital hygro in there it read....
52%!!!?!?!?!?!?!!? I have used digitial ever since.

Radio Shack has some nice ones. I don't know if they're discontinued but I got mine for $10 each on sale.

I know this is a horrible question, but I don't understand if you're supposed to calibrate the digital hygros with a salt test. Help?
