Humidity problem

I place my digital hygrometer (thanks guys for your help on my other thread) let sit there for 5 hours. I went to look at the humidity because I was excited to put my cigars in it but the humidity is at 83% so I open the drawers to make it decrease last night, this morning is still at 78%.How can I make it decrease or I can put my cigars in it even the humidity is at 78% ? Can it be the temperature where my humidor is, the temp. is about near 64-66F ?

Thanks

Yes, how new is it, and how long has it been since you started to season it? I waited almost two weeks for my new humi's rh to fall to an acceptable level.(patience) Sounds like Viper's beads would do you good too, if you havn't got them already.

Re: Humidity problem

Get the climax beads, you wont have to fight with your humidor anymore.

Re: Humidity problem

HI, my new humidor is about one week and a half old. Sounds like the beads is the "thing" to have. Gotta order them. My humidity problem is ok now, dead right a 70%. Thanks for your reply. I open the drawers this morning and it's ok now.

It took my new humidor about a month or so to even out. Get a digital
hygrometer and some beads. You will be set.

Re: Humidity problem

From my past experiences and the advice of the people on this board it seems that beads and a digital hygrometer is the way to go. Congrads on the new humi.
