It looks nice in the picture but I'm wondering if it is well made.
Also it seems like the one disadvantage is that once it is not full, there's nothing to hold the remaining cigars in place...

Re: aluminum travel humidor?

Are you going to fly with it? I used a leather lined metal humidor for a few years. It was opened every time when stowed in my carry on bag. No doubt it was scrutinized in checked baggage also.

Now I just carry the sticks in two ZipLoc bags. Haven't had a damaged cigar yet, and security doesn't notice them in the carry on.

Now, those evil lighters.......

I own what appears to be the exact same humi (I got mine from Holts), and I think you have it pegged: Very nicely built, cedar lined, but there is nothing to hold cigars in place. I also own a 5-cigar OtterBox, and in my opinion it is superior in pretty much every way.

But I'll tell you what: why don't you just PM me, and you can have mine... if you like it - great, if not just pass it on to someone else.

Spend the extra on the otter box or cigar caddy. That humi doesnt hold them in place and cigars could get damaged from rolling around in it. I have an otter box and cigars are all protected and you can even drive you truck over it and not damage the cigars.

Re: aluminum travel humidor?

I've got one that looks the same. I had the smae issue with the keeping the sticks in place. I used a small piece of closed cell foam and a small block of spanish cedar to keep the movement down. I've used it several time and haven't had a problem. I wish they had designed the latch different since it is a little awkard to open the box.

I'm now a huge believer in the Otterboxes. You can't go wrong with them and if you check the evil cigarbid.com you can usually get one for a decent price. The best for travel.

Totally agree with LX here. I recently got the 5400 which holds a box of cigars for under $25.
