got the touch?

Can you touch your cigars and tell they're right for smoking? How does that work?
Don't have a very good hygrometer and don't really trust it anyway. I know some people don't even use them though...

While it's hard to give a definite answer here, as different cigars are rolled in different amounts of firmness, I usually gently sqeeze the stick in the middle, while holding it close to my ear.....if it has a very slight crackle to it, it's probably okay. If it cracks or splits, obviously, it's too dry!

The suggestion on the beads is a good one. Get them and you will never have to worry about it again. Also, you may want to calibrate your hygrometer. if you haven't done so, and it's an analog type...well, let's just say that "it ain't right". Those are typically as much as 10% off. And that's alot.

Type in "SALT TEST" in the search function and all will be revealed!
