Thoughts on portable ashtray...

Now that the weather has finally dropped below too-frickin-hot here, I'm in need of a portable cigar ashtray to put in my backpack for those before-class sessions at school.

Let me clarify:

I already own a Palio and a Xikar, and neither of them I find well-suited for the task of a cigar rest.

I want something permanent, so the temporary cardboard stands are not an option. (NOTE: I did see somewhere on the 'Net that someone makes these out of metal, so that could be an option, if I could find the darn website again)

The one-off ashtray looks like an option, but almost seems too delicate/flimsy to me.

I've debated on the ritzenhoff personal-sized ashtrays (weight isn't that big of a factor, my backpack is already loaded down with crap), but while they are nice, they are not cheap.

Any other ideas? Almost wish Stinky would come out with a portable version (hint, hint!!)

Thanks for the feedback.

I like this but they are becoming hard to find at a good price.

Hopefully this is what Mark is trying to get

I should get one of these for my wifes car though. I think she would get "over" whatever smells would be left over after driving in exchange for driving the new car for a while.

Mark@Cigarmony has an excellent tutorial on exactly how to smoke in your car and clean up properly afterwards to virtually eliminate any odors:

Thanks for the feedback, but still searching...

I have a oneoff and love it, but even nicer, I have a colibri that folds up. Even has a cigar cutter and punch tool. The tray is held in by a magnet so you don't have to turn the whole thing over to dump it. The rest for the cigar slides too to accomodate smaller cigars. Very nice. Not sure if they still sell it or not, I received mine as a gift a few years ago.

edit:

Here it is in red. Mine is black. The pic in the corner is it folded up.

Would something like this work? I suppose if you need an ashtray part you could get some piece of sheetmetal or something and have a poor college student oneoff. Actually, I use this on my vehicles, attached to the bumper or hood vent, so I can stick my cigar on it while I go into a store or when we are BS'ing while leaning on the bumper. I also have some placed near the doors of my house so I can put it down while I run in for something.
