I guess its 10 Cf.
so it's approx 1.7' by 1.8' by 2.6' = approx 8 cu ft... probably another lb of beads to be on the safe side?

Sorry Grim! I don't know what it could be. I only have one fan that comes on every 1 1/2 hours or so for 5 minutes. The RH stays around 65-67 both top and bottom. Good luck with the extra pound of beads. Maybe spread 'em around some more when you get them....Let us know how it goes...

i am going to recalibrate my timer on the fan to let it run a little more often.

Your cigars are all inside boxes, right? Have you tried leaving one of the fans on 24/7?

Re: Rh Problem In Wine Cooler

I reset the timer on the fan for 30mins every two hours. Maybe this will help out some.

Re: Rh Problem In Wine Cooler

By the way I got your order and it will go out in the morning.

Switch the hygrometers around, meaning move the one you have in the top to the bottom and the one in the bottom to the top. See if you get the same measurements or if they are different. When there is such a drastic difference in such a small area I really suspect the hygrometers, I could be wrong.

Eric's right. Run the fans more often / all the time.

Did this the other day and they are within 1% of each other.
I moved my fan at the bottom a little higher up so it can suck more air from the bottom. Its kinda hard to explain but how I had it before it was kinda blocked so now it should have full blowing power. LOL I will see what happens in the next 48hrs and let you guys know. I think this will help drastically! Then the additonal pound of beads and the fan running more will get it perfect. Will report update soon. over and out.....

Re: Rh Problem In Wine Cooler

Hey Grim,

I have my setup pretty stable (humi drops when the cooler kicks on but recovers within about 15mins). I have a 52 bottle cooler with 1lb of 65 percent beads on the bottom (on top of a couple of empty boxes). Than fan is hanging at an angle (Bottom right pointing to bottom middle) and it runs every 2 1/2 hours for 30mins.

Wondering if maybe you have a seal problem? Hope it evens out for ya...

Re: Rh Problem In Wine Cooler

Grim, how are your cedar shelves set up? Is it a possibility the you are restricting air circulation with the cedar you are using as shelve liners? Sounds like overall humidity might be ok, just poor distribution within. My first thought might be something to improve circulation. maybe no more air needs moving, just need to move it more consistenly. Slots in shelves?, maybe spacers between shelves at rear to allow more circulation. It makes sense that heavier air will be at bottom when circulation is at fault.
