Hygrometer Calibration
I checked my analog hygrometer last night using the salt technique and it was about 10% off, is that pretty standard for an analog hygrometer? Also it came with a silicone ring around the outside covering the holes which I assume are used to take in the air, do I need to remove that?

Re: Hygrometer Calibration
Analog hygros are crap and you can never rely on them. Go digital.

Re: Hygrometer Calibration
I grabbed a digital hygro for 20 bucks at my local cigar shop and it was about 10% more accurate than my analog.
Peel off the sticky stuff on the back of your analog and there should be a flathead screw, you can use that to adjust it. Try and fix it by 10% and then salt test it again to make sure its right. I did that and it and my digital read the same now. |
