Glacierice Humidifier

I just realized last night that it has some mold forming in the bottom of the container. I am wondering how long I have to get a new humidifier? I have ordered some beads, and as long as I keep an eye on my sticks will it be ok until they get here. Thanks

Take a towel with some distilled water on it, not soaking wet just damp, and clean all the mold out. Beads should come pretty quick so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Whats the reading for your humidity levels / temp in the humidor?

Should take the mold a while to form again so if you clean it out good enough you will be okay until the beads arrive but something is causing that mold.

The rh is 64-65%. The mold is on the actual crystals.

I think you may have watered the crystals a bit too much.. either way mould is quite a problem with crystals and the florist foam. I wouldn't worry too much, as long as you're monitoring the humi on a regular basis, the beads will arrive sooner than you know.

I'm waiting on some beads to arrive as well and one of my foam humidifiers has mould building up in it even though it is less than 3 months old just goes to show you how bad these products are even though I used the 50/50 solution as advised to prevent the mould but it didn't work as advertised.

Take them out, of there the best thing to do when you have stuff like that is to put some everclear in the water with the beads.

I'd take out the humidifier if it has mold, if you ordered heartfelt beads it wont take long for them to arrive. I think your cigars will be fine, you can always make a temporary humidifier if you need it for a couple days..
