Sick need Edgestar electrician? it quit on me.

I have an Edgestar TWR281S 15 months old. It was a scratch and dent from Compact Appliance and it quit working. To make it worse, Edgestar does not support this part anymore as they now sell the TWR282282S... They say the part isn't the same??

Anyway, it is probably the power supply in my opinion. No power to any fans or even the led light. I supspect the little fuse in the top right hand corner but it is soldered in.

Any suggestions or am I just going to have to suck it up and buy another?

PS: it is actually a wine cooler for the wife. I have another just like it for my cigars tho...

Re: need Edgestar electrician? it quit on me.

You can get a cheap LED volt meter from Lowes( about 10 bucks) and check the fuse.

UNPLUG THE UNIT before opening, then when you've found the fuse, plug in the unit and make sure not to touch anything. Take the red plug and touch the fuse and find a ground with the black. If the light comes on then you'll know it's the fuse. If not, then it's probably the power supply.

Thanks Bax,

I've got a cheapie volt meter in the garage already. Don't know why I didn't think about that. Just not used to troubleshooting with electricity I guess.

Will be gone a couple of days on a trip but will get to it as soon as I get back and let you know how it worked out..

If it is the fuse, Do you think I could solder one in or what would the next step be?
