Re: Rh Problem Again!!
So it is the condenser kicking in that makes the Rh dippity doo? I was wondering how that worked. I am going to take your advice about shooting for the low side. I have tons of PG and floral foam and other humidiers including an unused cigar oasis plus still in the box. (Open for a trade if anyone is interested) I am going to go with that advice. It really makes sense doesn't it! Upping the Rh is never a prob.. It is getting it down and stable which are the tough parts. Have you posted any pictures of your wine cooler?

Re: Rh Problem Again!!
Jgrimball what ever happened with you trying to control the humidity? I am having issues with mine staying 78-80% when it isn't cooling. Tonight I am going to lower the setting to 68 with 5 diff from 70 to 5 diff and see if that doesn't help at all. No good I tell you, no good!

Re: Rh Problem Again!!
Howdy from Texas! I realize it has been a while since anyone has posted to this thread, but here is my experience with my Haier cooling humidor setup. I bought a controller like the ones used in lagering beer so that I could set the cooler to stay at 70F. When I got it set up, the temperature fluctuated wildly- what was happening was that there was a large lag in the response to the temperature. I solved this by putting the sensor to the controller right behind the plate that contains the coils. Now the compressor is on only 42 seconds every 12 minutes in a house that is kept at 78F in the laundry room. I could monitor this with a datalogging temperature and humidity sensor.
Next I put in the beads everyone is fond of and included a 12V computer fan that runs all the time. It is aimed at the back plate so that any moisture is quickly put back into the air after condensation. I really don't have any problems with this setup. Yes, the humidity goes down but is only down for an average of 3 minutes before it is back on track. If your boxes are closed, the average of temperature and humidity will be virtually steady. I hope this helps. Take care CarpeDNA |
