Cedar insert - Beneficial or a waste?

I was looking around on Famous's website last night, and I found this. It's a spanish cedar insert for the bottom of the humidor. It's supposed to allow better air circulation under the cigars. Do you guys/girls think this would be a beneficial item to purchase or just another item to sell to a newbie?

As long as the cigars on the bottom of the humi are laying on spanish cedar I would think they are just fine. But I don't see where it would hurt them either. I might look more at using these to line the bottom of a coolador. Good find mels95yj !!

I was thinking they'd make excellent shelves (and bottom) for an Edisonidor if the dimensions were right.

They may be useful if you're using a coolerdor or tupperdor and your cigars aren't in cedar cabinets....couldn't hurt.

They seem kinda small 12" X 9" for the price $16. You could get your own spanish cedar and custom make these yourself pretty easy.

Cedar = Humidification Shock absorbers, some natural bug repellent and what surrounds virtually all cigars sold in containers – boxes, cabs, tubes. Air flow over cigars themselves is a debate regarding cigar aging. If they are in cabs/boxes the air isn't actually flowing to the cigars. Most would agree that air flow/circulation is necessary in larger spaces to keep humidity constant throughout.

That's cool. I figured it wasn't something that I needed. Of course, I'm always the guy that gets sold the undercoating, extra this or extra that! Thanks for everyone's advice/suggestions!
