Hair setup suggestions

Ok i splured today and bought a haier hvfo42abl a 42 bottle

anyway have just riped open the box and would like your guys optionions

what i was thinking is the following

Was planing on putting my desktop humidor 75cig inside with 65 humidity using beads

now what i was thinking is that i can set the haier temp to 65 and place 70% beads in it so when i get new cigar cases i can just though them in there an let them age abit then when i want one i would move them to my humidor inside which would be set to 65%

also how many beads do you think would be good for the inside of the haier
it state the Cube Measurements are 12.48 cu. ft

I heve read the other thread on this and people where using fans is this nessidary? also how did you go about pluging it it?

Note: will post pics as soon as i get it setup somewhat..

any commanets or suggestions would be a great help
thanks ahead of time

Re: Hair setup suggestions

Went to the Haier website and the dimensions they give for that model only calculate to just under 10 cubic feet. But they say it is a 12+ cubic foot model, one or the other is incorrect. As they said above, just measure the interior dimensions and calculate the volume.

Re: Hair setup suggestions

Well these were my calculations

Internal Dimentions:

17" deep
17" wide
33" tall

Calculation
(17*17*33)/(172 =
9537 / 1728 =
5.52 cubic feet

Re: Hair setup suggestions

Now that is pretty sad, where is the truth in advertising with that product. They are very nice coolers though, just too bad they can't be a little more truthful about the interior space.

Re: Hair setup suggestions

here is a pic

still testing for best all around temp
still pretty much empty while testing
have one wireless temp in the humidor
and another dig temp measuring temp on top shelf and bottom shelf

this would be nice if you could get some Spanish cedar shelves and just lay the cigars out...

Re: Hair setup suggestions

Hi guys

Im still waiting on my beads should be getting them in a few days

anyway still playing with temp settings

ok my question is this
My humidor is staying around 66%F temp and 60%humidity

now humidor is placed inside the hair wine cooler and the default temp by the humidor out side its case is the same 66%F

but my question is realy about the humidity i am using 50/50 solution at the moment and i have never seen it drop down to 60% before.

is this due to the temp decress?

the hair cooler at the moment has no beeds or humidification as of yet but i didnt think this would make a diffrence in the humidor it self. does it?
FYI the hair coolers humidity is sitting at 54%

1. i have checked the credo its damp
2. humidor seal is fine
3. has cigars in it 30+ in a 50 box

any suggestions or comments would be a great help
