hygrometer salt test calibration

Let me start by saying my digital hygro is being shipped . I did a salt test on my anolog hygro .It should read 75% RH correct? It reads 85%. Being off 10% in my humi reading 80 % is really 70% Am I correct in my thinking?

You would think so, but with analog hygro's you never really know.

Yup...they are wildly inaccurate. Mine can fluctuate anywhere between 5% off and 15% off depending on the mood they are in that day. My digi is usually with 2-3%.

I use the analog in one of my desktops simply because it looks nice and had a big hole if I don't. The other desktop gets a digi only.
