What is the best way to clean the outside of a humidor? I do not a odors getting inside my humidor

What do you mean with the above sentence? You note that odors are coming into the humidor and suspect it has to do with the outside.

In general your humidor shouldn't need anything else than wipe down with a soft moist cloth from time to time, just like dusting furniture. If you want to keep it nice and shiny you can use linseed oil, if the wood is untreated. Use sparingly.

If the wood is treated or lacquered or for any other materials besides wood just the moist cloth. There are special acrylic cleaners if it is an acrylic humi.

i'll wipe mine down w/a flannel cloth to remove dust, then w/a TINY bit of olive oil for a shine/to bring out the grain

Dusting cloth.

If I have to...just wipe with a little oil soap on a rag.

I have a very shiny coat on my 100ct humidor that became scratched over time. A light coat of standard furniture wax made it look brand new.
