Re: needa hydrometer

If yow want to go real cheap, you can get a non-adjustable digital at WalMart for about $6. Look by the thermometers.

I've tried 7 different non-adjustable digitals and all have been off 5-10%! Buy the adjustable digital Hygroset from David at www.heartfeltindustries.com along with the Boveda calibration kit. I like the round one better. It's more compact. All 4 of mine that I purchased from David are spot on after 1 month!

Re: needa hydrometer

my analog one sucks....

my digital that i got from radioshack is pretty good, but sensitive. it was $20. I might have to head to walmart to get one of those $6 ones...

Re: needa hydrometer

I think Puff got this one taken care of good looking out

But for anyone who's looking for a wireless hygrometer Oregon Scientific is still having a sale on their medium yellow Starck weatherstations.
At $20 for the Base & sensor is a Really good deal! The base is an Atomic radio/alarm, moonphase, barometric pressure, weather forcaster etc.
Use the code webthx07 for $10 off which covers the shipping

Re: needa hydrometer

got the new meter from puff daddy and my box is still saying 65% humidity. Is that fine? If not what can i do to raise it? I use the glyerol stuff for my humidification puck.

First of all, you need to get rid of that PG solution!!! See my post under chemical taste! I almost ruined $500 worth of cigars by humidifying with that stuff! Use either Boveda Packs at 65% or 69% RH or beads from www.heartfeltindustries.com. Most BOTLS prefer 65%RH for their cigars. I purchased 4 adjustable hygrometers from David at heartfelt and they are all spot on after one month. You need to re-calibrate your digital hygrometer every 6 months with the Boveda calibration kit from Heartfelt. I would definitely change your humidification first, though! Check the posts out on humidity beads and good luck!

The puck should be fine if you like it, but I would only use distilled water, not PG solution in it!!! Like I said, 65%RH should be perfect!!!

Just add more water... though if you're stocking Cubans 65% is ideal
