It might be easier for you to only wet 2 of the stockings and leave 1 stocking dry. Then you would always have some dry beads to absorb the excess humidity. There should never be water dripping out of the beads. I have found it to be easier to wet the beads with a pump sprayer that I picked up at Walmart for $.99, then pat the stockings dry with a towel before putting them back in the cooler
I totally agree with leaving one bag un-saturated. I experienced the same RH% days after setting up a cooler with 65% Heartfelt beads. Airing it out, giving a few boxes some time, and drying out half the beads got things back down from 74 to around 68%.

Re: Coolers with slots?

Thanks for all the advice, it seems like I just had the beads too wet. The cooler has been closed all night and when I opened it this morning it was still at 66%.
