Quality V-Cutters

I've been lurking around the forums for awhile, but haven't really posted too much. I've been smoking cigars for about a year and a half now, and I have come to enjoy v-cuts the most. Not sure why, but that is my preferential cutter. Now, I have gone through several cheap v-cutters, and they work ok, but I have been looking around and have found no where that carries a quality v-cutter. Do any of you guys know where I can pick up a nice quality V-cutter? I'm looking to spend around $10-$20. I've also read a lot of good things about the Palios, and was maybe going to pick one of those up as well. Thanks in advance guys.

Re: Quality V-Cutters

from my limited experience w/v cutters, you'll spend $50+ to get quality, more likely $100+-i don't know why they're so darn expensive-you can get a quality double guilletine for a lot cheaper

Re: Quality V-Cutters

Xicar manufactures a 10$ reverse V cutter that is fantastic. It isn't branded as Xicar though it is branded Wolf with f reversed in the logo. Made in solingen germany. I recommended it before in this thread as well. http://www.clubstogie.com/vb/showthread.php?t=113270

Here is the company web-site but the V-cutter isn't listed. http://www.wolfertz-gmbh.com/catalogueList.php

My B&M just got another shipment of them in about 2 weeks ago so they are still selling them. I may just go in and pick up a couple more just in case they are out of production.

Re: Quality V-Cutters

Is there any way that you could pick one up for me? I have never heard of them, and my local B&M doesn't carry them. That would be awesome if you could grab one, and let me know how much it would be with shipping.

Re: Quality V-Cutters

Interesting.. Because I've used my palio SOOO much, I have forgotten how nice a V cut can be. I can't seem to find a decent V cutter for around the same price as the palio. I may try a V cut on a smoke at my local shop today..

There are a few places to get these cutters - they are the preferred cut in Europe.

here are a couple of places

http://bcspecialties.com/cigarasp/cutters_v.asp

http://www.bonitasmokeshop.com/devon..._cats__eye.htm (pricey but cool)

http://www.thecigarstore.com/Cigar-A...ter-Black3.htm (This is probably the one you are looking for)

Joed thats the one.

http://www.thecigarstore.com/Cigar-A...ter-Black3.htm

notunknownguy I would just get one from the link above. It's about the same price and we don't have to mess around trying to ship etc... I highly recommend them. Much more impressive than they look. They just have that satisfying **snick** when you use it. Cut is very clean. Seem durable and they are reasonably priced if you lose/break/wear them out.

Re: Quality V-Cutters

I love a good Vcut

the thing with them is you need a good one.
it needs to be sharp the little plastic ones do not do the job.

I have a table top steal one with a pull lever it was around 50-60 bucks

I have yet to see a good handheld one that works well for long.
