Vinotemp and Hydra Cables

Gang,

Wondering if any of you have this setup. Was looking for something low maintenance since I spend a lot of time away from home. Have two pounds of 65% beads and a Hyrda in a 28 BOTTLE Vinotemp. Once the Cedar comes in, I'll make some shelves and post some pics.

My question is, those of you with Hyrdas and a Vinotemp. Will the Power DC Adapter Cable fit through the drain plug? I've currently got the Hydra's ribbon cable going through the glass door seal at the bottom.

I haven't taken the bottom tray off the bottom yet but I wanted it to be cosmetically pleasing. Any suggestions?

No use of pulling my hair out if someone else has come up with a great configuration.

Thanks.

It takes a little bit of work, but you can get it through the drain plug. The actual plug is in the same shape as a normal drain. Standard "S" shape so when you ar fishing it through, understand it just doesn't slip through to the bottom of the Vino. It will rise up, then down, following the shape of the plug.

Trust me, it took me a good two hours of playing with it, but I got it to finally find its way through. I did bore out the bottom hole a bit with a drill to give it more space.

Good luck.

The vinotemp?
Yes you do. Or yes you can, rather. That way you can make sure temperature is 100% stable year round

Since it's a wine cooler it doesn't get too cold. You can get it at 65/70 degrees steady.

Yes, It's always on. Holding steady at 65 degrees, 67% RH.
It's to damn expensive to keep my office that cool in El Paso.

Re: Vinotemp and Hydra Cables

I still have to take photos of mine (just plain lazy!). I completely removed the drain assembly, which is very easy. Simply flip the fridge onto the front glass <lay a towel down first!> and use a wrench to remove the plastic hex nut holding the drain in place on the bottom rear. Then turn the fridge to the correct position, and use a pair of needle nose pliers to pull the drain assembly out. And just like ljh824, I used a drill bit to widen the hole a VERY slight amount.

Then I simply used a wire coat hanger (insert obligatory line from "Mommy Dearest" now) and used that to fish the hydra power cable through.

Finally, I used black caulk (looked better than the clear I originally used first) to make a very clean seal on both ends. Took about 20 minutes total.

I also have 2 lbs of beads scattered throughout. 67 degrees and 64 - 67 RH% 24-7!!!
