a box the cigars came in and let's say a 50 ct humi? In fact, I see a lot of boxes listed as a humi that come with sticks in them. What I'm trying to fing out is why I should go out and pay say $60 for a humi when I could buy a box of smokes, when done put in a hydrometer, beads and be done. Is there someting I don't know? Thanks.

Almost all boxes are not set up to be humidors. The seal on them is not nearly tight enough and the Spanish Cedar is usually thin or non-existent. If you don't care about looks, buy a cooler and you will get maximum storage for cheap.

Re: What's the difference between...

i see a lot of boxes advertised as "humidor quality", but otter's right-it's just an advertising ploy 99% of the time-you may find a quality box that's as good as a sh*t*y humi, i don't know-i think you can get a 50ct. on cbid around $20-just realize you'll probably need a 100ct soon after, then a cooler after that, then.....well, you get the picture

I have a good looking desktop humi, I was just more interested if there was really a diff between a real humi and one that comes with cigars. As Wharfrathoss stated, it sounds to me as a ploy to but the smokes and get a "freebie" along the way. I just picked up a box of Gurkas on Cbid that the box states it also a humi, that's what prompted the though.

PS - I hate the devil site!!!

Picking up a cooler today. I have 45 sticks crammed into a 50 ct humi and about 35 sticks coming in on Sat from Cbid. I have storage issues !!!

I did pawn a few off on a local friend, but still have way more than I can properly store. I've had a cold for a few weeks now and my smoking hasn't kept up with my buying.
