Re: Q about Hydras
Mine was going off non-stop when I first set mine up, matter-of-fact the fan ran most of the time as well, actually for about the first week. Give it some time and let the humidor stabilize while its in there and you should be fine. Also try to turn down the humidity gauge, mine is about 5% lower than my digital hygrometer.

Re: Q about Hydras
There are three adjustments that can be made to the Hydra. 1 knob that adjusts the display and two buttons to adjust the humidity level up and down.
The knob is only for adjusting the reading on the display. For instance, if you have a calibrated digital hygrometer that you know is calibrated to 70% and the Hydra's display is reading 68%, you can turn the knob to adjust the Hydra's display to read 70%. The up and down buttons are what adjusts how much the humidity the Hydra puts out and should be used for setting the humidity level. When the knob for adjusting the display is turned all the way down (to the negative) this bypasses the humidity sensor causing the Hydra to think that it is out of water even when it is not which is what would cause the beeping. The other possible cause is that the humidor is too large for the Hydra. The Hydra will regulate up to 8 cubic feet of volume. If you measure the length X width X height of your humidor in inches and then divide by 1728 you will get the cubic feet of your humidor. They are coming out with a larger version of the Hydra that will regulate up to 16 cubic feet within the next month or so. I guess in short, make sure that the display adjustment knob is not turned all the way down in one direction. If so, turning it to the center and adjusting the humidity level with the buttons will take care of your problem with the Hydra unless of course it's the size of the humidor. I hope this helps and thanks again for the support, I greatly appreciate it. Sincerely, Mark Neff Cigarmony LLC |
