I have come into possesion of a family heirloom from my Grandfather who passed away a few years back. It's a silver matchbox holder with the family crest on it and I am trying to find some wood cigar matches that will fit it. The holder measures 3"x2"x1" and according to my father they don't make the matches that my Grandfather used to use with this any more. My Grandfather was an Englishman and there may still be some matches that will work with this somewhere in Great Britain. If there are any Botl's in the UK that think they can find a source for me I would be very appreciative of the assistance. If there is a specific wooden match that is better for cigar lighting that would be ideal but I will take anything that will fit the holder.
Here is a photo for size comparison purposes:

Re: Looking for cigar matches for my matchbox holder
Have you tried the strike anywhere wooden matches they sell? They are slightly longer than the matches CI and the B&M give away.

Is there a prefered match for cigars? I had a partial box of matches that were made of spanish cedar at one point. I got them from a cigar bar here is Seattle. These were about 4 inches long so they would not fit my matchbox holder but they were great for lighting cigars. -Matthew ![]()

Re: Looking for cigar matches for my matchbox holder
Matthew, search E-Bay and type in matches, will bring up 1,000's of items even some old English holders. They should have your Matches. I went thru a couple of pages and saw a few British matches, Good luck, Don
