J&S Humidors

Does anyone remember this humidor maker? They specialized in good quality un-finished humidors. I tried searching the forum and looking through the archive but didn't get any hits.

I purchased a model 200 from J&S in July of '97 ($214) and had a friend of the family put a nice hand rubbed finish on it. After eight years, it's still a thing of beauty. Just curious if they are still around or if anyone else is using their products?

I did a google search and found a few links that suggest they went out of business which is a real shame seeing how good the product is:

Thanks,

Re: J&S Humidors

i think i have one of these. if i remember correctly they were made in louisianna and sold unfinished. mine holds 200 and is made of mahogany. it is a high quality unit and has served me well for about 11 years. i would buy another one but i haven't seen anything about them in years.

Re: J&S Humidors

Thanks for your message. Yes! That's the outfit. Made in Louisianna out of solid mahogany and 1/4" Spanish Cedar lined. Another unique thing about them is that they didn't take credit cards - checks and money orders only. Back in the day, I don't remember anyone having a bad experience with them, but as you say, I can't find any recent news on them at all. Too bad they couldn't hang it together. Hell of a great humidor.
