Herf-a-dor

When i made my first purchase on the Devil site. It was a 15 count Herf-a-dor, I got it for 17 dollars. I was wondering before a do anything thing stupid with it. Is there anything i can't do to it. Compared to an otterbox that i hear alot of people have?

You can't throw it into a fire. They are basically the same thing.

Ya can't cook a pot roast in it.

Some put a tube of beads in their traveldors. I do.

They are fairly durable but I wouldn't deliberately test the limits.
My is that the Otter boxes are stronger but I have no empirical evidence to support my position.

Just watch the humidity the first few times you use it. Since most are airtight, they have a tendency to over humidify if you are not careful. Moldy cigars are a bummer.

Re: Herf-a-dor

I just used my 5-ct otterbox for a five day weekend with no humidification and the final cigar smoked perfect on the last day.

I never use humidification in my 15 count. The cigars will be fine for a week or two as long they are properly humidified before putting them in there.

Re: Herf-a-dor

My herf-a-dor came in today. I was playing with it and i noticed that on the sides the lid doesn't close flush to the box its not a huge gap but its there..is that a problem? will it leak? and if i have to put it in the cooler while camping this summer, with the stogies get ruined?

Re: Herf-a-dor

That sux, bro. I know it would be a pain but I would send it back. They are supposed to close very tightly. If you don't want to do that, I would place the cigars in a ziplock or 5 finger bag then place that in the unit.
