Preferred Lighter $50-$60?

Right now I use a Jeep lighter I purchased from my local B&M 6 months ago and am completely fed up with it. I've tried Colibri's and a couple others, but it seems like every lighter I buy is finicky and lights when it chooses to. I'm willing to spend some money to get a quality product, but would prefer something around $50-$60 or less. Any of you botl's have suggestions on a quality product that hasn't failed you? I would appreciate it!

Hear lots of good things about Blazer PB207s, although I don't own one. Should be considerably less than $50, although I don't know the specifics on that. Sorry to hear that about your Colibri, I have had mine for two years without a hint of a problem. You could always stock up on a ton of Ronsons from Wally World at $3 a piece. That never failed me either, until I left it somewhere or lost it.

The best lighter around. Not the prettiest but none work better.

Narbs,
The PB-207 is a great lighter. Strong torch that works great in any condition and a huge fuel capacity.
I currently have them on sale for $33.75 if you are interested (plus you get a free multi use cigar clip).

Dave

I like my Xikar Executive, works well, and looks super pretty.

Re: Preferred Lighter $50-$60?

Rob, at Taboo has a nice, economical lighter. I am about to do a review on it. The triple flames point from the center out forming a "V". It lights very well, and has a punch on the bottom flipout. It also fits perfectly in a cigar tray, or caddy.
Here is a LINK. I have no financial interest in TABOO. It is just a good product for the price IMO.

Here is a pic I took of it for my review.

Narbs: Go with the Blazer for overall dependability. I also bought a triple torch Vector from Rob @ Taboo several weeks ago. Beautiful marble color & works great!

Re: Preferred Lighter $50-$60?

You want a lighter that will last? A couple things to remember - replacable flint wheel (just say no to electronic ignition) and simple flame (say no to torches or those that "jet" flames) using butane.

I have a Corona Old Boy (yeah, I know, more for pipes) that is 8 years old and faithful as the day is long. I have an old Colibri - simple flame with flint wheel ignition from 1981. This is my beat-em-up lighter. It has taken more abuse and is consistent as the day is long. In the meantime, I have gone through numerous torches and others gifted to me with electronic ignition. ($15 when I got it - recently saw a similar lighter for $25) It is a heavy lighter, metal.

Look around for them. You might find something at your local bookstore that sells cigars - that's where I saw this one.
Here's a link to a lighter a friend bought - yeah, it is a pipe lighter. What that means is it sort of angles the flame. However, it isn't a torch, it is a simple flame. I love using my pipe lighter for cigars, it angles the flame and is great to roast the foot. http://www.bugstores.com/shop/lighte...?product=0BSN8

And another one (don't know anyting about, but they style and type of flame) http://www.smokerstuff.com/butane/monarch/monarch.htm

Anyway, that's just my thoughts. I spent a bit looking online, I wish I could find what I am talking about, but the closest one is this - http://www.smokerstuff.com/butane/monarch/monarch.htm. Mine is narrower and not quite as thin.

Hope this is some help.

Zikar Executive is a really nice lighter... However, I prefer my Ronson and Blazer Z-Plus insert.

I will be posting a buy later today, this just pushed me off the fence I was sitting on..

edit: so far, no one has said "they suck" and in cigar parlance, that can be a glowing recommendation...
