Porsche Design PD6?

Thinking about buying one of these, but it's an awful lot of money to spend. Perhaps some of you LLG's can comment on the following:

Construction quality?
Reliability?
Discounting dealer?
Usability? (looks great in pictures, but how does it FEEL to use?)

Even if you don't have THIS particular Porsche lighter, but another one in their series (any of the PD models), please feel free to comment.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Porsche Design PD6?

I'm sorry HH, I don't have anything to contribute, other than my own curiosity. I think they look beautiful, and for the money, I would expect them to be fantastic (hence the 3 year warranty).... I obviously wouldn't be buying one for some time (heck, my $15 colibri firebird was a big (disappointing) purchase for me), but I'm interested in everyone else's thoughts as well... but at least this is a bump for ya!

Hi Hammerhead,
I bought a PD5 in blue a while back and it is by far my favorite lighter. The only drawback is the relatively small tank size requiring more frequent refills then the other lighters I own.
I bought the leather case for it as I like to throw the lighter in my pocket and I have had scratching problems with other brands previously so I figured it would be worth the price. Its not cheap, I paid roughly $175 for the lighter the leather case and shipping. It has performed perfectly and I strongly recommend it if you are willing to be done lighter shopping for a while.

Re: Porsche Design PD6?

I have two Porsche Design lighters and they are excellent lighters. Very well made and engineered.
There is a member here that can get you a deal on these.
He goes by RonC or roncarlos. Good guys and he will give you a great deal.

Re: Porsche Design PD6?

Hammerhead, I am an authorized dealer, and I have decided to get rid of my existing stock. I have the PD6's and leather cases in stock at 40% off list. List price is $170, my price will be $102. Cases list at $60, my price is $36. The lighter,as well as the cases, are awesome. Website is www.cigarsolutions.com.. Lighters are not on my site, but my toll free # is.
