Fuel Recommendation

Have searched, found a lot of input on lighters, but not much on a specific fuel. I am going to order 6 Ronson Jetlites, and everyone seems to agree that they should be purged and refilled with a "decent" fuel. What would this be? I do have some calibri fuel at home for my pipe lighter, is that OK or should I get something else?

Thanks. Loving the site here, and the members. Have split a box with one already! Went from having 5 sticks and some matches to 20 and patiently awaiting the arrival of over 30 more and a cigar caddie, and will be getting my new humi from my step-dad at thanksgiving! The slope is already slippery enough without all of you oiling it up for all us newbies!

Re: Fuel Recommendation

I use the Ronson Jet-Lites and I just use Ronson fuel in them. Have not had any problems yet.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

I use colibri fuel as well in my Ronson and haven't had any issues.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

I use Vector and Lava in my Blazer and Dupont X-tend. I imagine they’ll work just as well in any lighter.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

I use Vector and I highly recommend it. You can pick it up at any Williams-Sonoma. I've also heard a lot of people speak highly of Lava, although I've never used it myself.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

Any butane that's triple, quadruple or quintuple refined. Colibri, Xikar, Lava, Vector...they're all good.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

A good triple or 5x refined fuel is what I use and never have problems with my Ronson lighters. I love the Ronson lighter as it is my 'go to ' lighter now after all the other Colibris and Prometheus lighters fizzled out on me

Yeah, I am one who never shies away from paying more $ for something if it's worth it, but I have/had a colibri pipe lighter that doesn't work anymore, and after reading all the info on cigar lighters, it seems that the 5 dollar Ronson is the way to go. Just ordered 6 of the them, so I have some extras to give out.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

I believe I've read that the Ronson JetLites are more tolerant towards less than great fuel. Seeing as how Madurolover has been using the Ronson fuel (I'm assuming the one that's vaguely called "Ultra") this seems to be true.

I've only had to refill my JetLite once with the cheap Ronson stuff and so far, so good...

Nibo also makes a 3x refined fuel.

For sure on refilling this amazing lighter. I have only refueled once and that was about 3 weeks ago and I use it every day and sometimes I just click it to see the flame ( hints of pyromania as a kid when I use to ignite hairspray cans that my mom would dispose of at her salons,,,,fire in the hole!! )

Re: Fuel Recommendation

The Ronson's will burn anything. A true workhorse. However, I only use Vector as the Ronson is not the only lighter I have.

Re: Fuel Recommendation

I started using Vector in my Ronson lighters and they seem to burn much better.
