Ebay humidors?

I was looking around for a new humidor and there are some on ebay and the prices almost seem too good to be true. Anyone have a ebay humidor. The company is called gadget bestbuy. Here is the link to the one I'm looking at.

I tried to search and look for threads on this but didn't find any. Sorry if i missed them.

Re: Ebay humidors?

Stay away. They are usually garbage, poor seals, little to no cedar. Search on this board, there are plenty great retailers (I use cheaphumidors.com myself).

If it sounds too good to be true. It often is. Thanks for the heads up, I had a bad feeling about them that just confirmed it.

Re: Ebay humidors?

Heheh, oddly enough, I was looking at this seller last night.

I find it a bit worrisome that they keep saying "cedar".... but not "spanish cedar".

I didn't persue it any further because I don't need another humi and I didn't like any of the limited number of styles they sell anyway.

My own personal policy is to not buy humidors sight unseen. I have to be able to inspect them before I buy them.

I actually bought this tabletop 150ct cabinet from that seller on sale for $39. The trays are spanish cedar, but the humidor itself appears to be maple, poplar, or some other non-aromatic wood. It leaked like a screen door when I got it, but all I had to do is seal the glass window seams with odorless clear silicone caulk. Holds humidity perfectly now. i have no complaints. Considering the price, a $5 tube of caulk was well worth it.

I ended up just getting one from cheaphumidors. It ended up being not even $10 more after shipping. Thanks for the help guys.

Re: Ebay humidors?

There are a couple of sellers on ebay selling decent humidors. gadgetbestbuy is not one of them. I don't remember who the others were, but I'm sure you could turn them up with a search, I know this has been discussed.

Re: Ebay humidors?

I bought a humidor similar to this about 8 months ago from this seller. I seasoned the hell our of it, and according to my digital hygrometer, its holding humidity perfectly. Don't expect the top to be glass tho.

Re: Ebay humidors?

I picked up one of these for $50 and a quite pleased with it. I hope no one bursts my bubble about this humi, but it looks great, keeps a good seal, and smells awsome when ever I open it.

Re: Ebay humidors?

I also like cheaphumidors.com. I got an imperfect humidor for a steal. What was wrong with it? Well, it had a small gouge/scratch...on the inside. Almost felt like I got it for free.

Re: Ebay humidors?

I think you're ok buying on ebay if you stick to name brands. I just picked up a Romeo y Julieta limited edition humi on ebay for what I feel was a real good price. The humi is beautiful, and quality is first rate. Here's a link:

Re: Ebay humidors?

Just check the feedback- that should give you an idea. I personally prefer cedar interior myself. Altho my last three were all coolerdors!
