Oust fan and beads question

1) Where do you guys get those Oust fans from? I see it on heartfelt, but $13 + shipping seems like a lot for a little fan.

2) Is there any place less expensive to get beads from other than Heartfelt.com?

3) Would you suggest putting the fan in front of the beads to blow air across them, or some other orientation?

This will be in a 120-150ct humi. I'm currently using 3 drymistat tubes and am thinking about getting rid of them and using just beads in the "foam" humidifier holder.

1. That's about how much they cost anywhere, if you can find them.

3. The fan could be placed anywhere but with that small a humidor, I see no need for one. Beads placed in the bottom center would sufice. Humidity rises.

Do you have Home Depot where you live? I bought a couple a month or so ago there, $5.00 each.

Oust fans are very hard to come by, so $13 bucks is a decent price. You might want to search some local drug stores (Riteaid, Walmart, etc...) for them. I purchased my beads from Heartfelt too. They're not cheap, but will last for years if you take care of them. They also work well in place of foam. As NC said, Mark at Cigarmony also has them and he has great service. In a humi of that size, you really don't need a fan. It will take up valuable real estate.

I agree, Heartfelt rocks! I have about 8 pounds of beads from them and they work great.
