Savoy Travel Humidor

I recently purchased a Savoy Travel Humidor Large from Cbid. I attempted to season it, but then I realized that there was almost no seal whatsoever. I charged up the humifier, put a wet sponge in it and left it there for hours. When I took a look at it...the hygrometer indicates 49%...it didn't even move by 1 degree since I put it in.

Anybody here have bought the Savoy Humidor and realized the same issue?

Anyways, I really want this humidor to work...I plan to attach some rubber washers to the lid, good idea?

Thanks

Rubber has a definite odor. Probably some type of silicon, and let it air out well before you use. HOWEVER, I would give non-adhesive solutions a try first, cause after you smear some type of sealant on, there will be little turning back!!

I'm where you are. Great looking, but lousy seal & poor functionality.

Not sure what I'm gonna do. Right now I am sticking to my Pelican.

I went with the otterbox, much easier to deal with. Great for in the boat and at the cabin.

Bah, this is depressing...

Anyways, I don't mean rubber washers...I mean this strips self-adhering of "rubber" that you use to seal things with. I forgot the name of those. Anyone know? Might stop by the hardware store today.

Totally agree bro! The Otterbox Cigar Caddy rocks! I was out tuna fishing (50 miles) out this year and one of the knuckleheads knocked it into the ocean!

So is it really waterproof? Always been afraid to test it.
