Starter combo?

If a thread exists ont his already I appologize, I have searched many different word combos and couldnt find anything. So here it goes. Anyone have a sugestions pro/con on combo starter kits from online retailers? I was looking at some samplers of different things to try and came across a few, for example http://www.cigarsinternational.com/p...p?item=SP-BC08 , I have been just buying by the stick at the local tabaco outlet, selection is not very big, any thoughts? Have a great day.

Re: Starter combo?

Do you need a humidor? If so those small ones sure don't last long! If you hang around here much you will need another one in a week. If you don't look in the WTS/WTT section here. There is a lot of good stuff in there. I Know I could put together a nice sampler of quality sticks for that price. PM me if yo are interested.

Re: Starter combo?

The problem I find with CI's samplers is that they usually include at least one kind of cigar that is cheap. I've never had a La Herencia Cubana, but I just looked at the prices and it is the cheapie they throw in. That's not to say that it isn't a good smoke, because price is not the only indicator, but you should be aware of that.

On the positive side, I have the Yukon humidor (I picked it up for 20 bucks on cbid a while ago) and it has a great seal on it and actually holds a decent amount of smokes.

Re: Starter combo?

I dont necesarily need a humidor, I am using a lock and lock tuperware container right now and from all that i have read on here, figured i would wait until i fall off the slope and jump straight to a cooler after that, i figured a medium humidor in a combo would be ok for some aging of some cigars until i fall of the slop and then it could serve as a holder for things like acids and other drew estate style cigars, (which i enjoy once in a while) and they wouldnt affect my cooler, these are just thoughts, figured it would be best to learn from people who already lived it, i appreciate the info, right now i cant see wtt wts forums sections, but will check those out one day when i can, havea great day

Re: Starter combo?

I'm extremely happy with the combo I got from Cuban Crafters.

http://www.cubancrafters.com/humidor...R+CIGARS+COMBO

I got this set

http://www.cubancrafters.com/products.php/item_id/2864

and it came with a very nice cutter instead of the punch. The cigars may be cheap, but they are very smooth, mild, easy to smoke and all my buddies that have tried them bought a box of their own.

The humi is excellent. Other than having to go back and seal the seam along the glass (which I find is common regardless of manufacturer) its perfect. I would absolutely buy from them with confidence again.

Re: Starter combo?

I would suggest looking here:

5-Star You-Pick-Two Madness - Cigars International

It's a pretty good deal.

You can't really go wrong at $3.40 a stick with samplers of Nub, Comancho, Gurkha, CAO, Oliva, Don Pepin, Rocky Patel, etc.
