What is a good newbie gorilla torch lighter?

I may be interested in picking up a torch ligheter, but the B&M has super torch lighters or something. Made of platinum and gold, definitely not in my price range. I hear alot of bad things about colibri. Is there anything anyone will recommend for a nice starter Torch Lighter?

Re: What is a good newbie gorilla torch lighter?

There are a number of threads on this, so you can do a search for a variety of opinions.

Anyway, I recommend the Prince/Blazer PB-207. It's crazy hot, will light a few boxes of cigars before it needs refilling, and is very well made. All for around $30 from nextcigar.com. Cigarmony.com offers a Prometheus version of the lighter, but I have yet to try one.

I like the Nibo Space lighter. Cannot beat it for $10.

Good lighter. I've got two of them. The only problem is that you have to carry an extra can of fuel with it.

I appologize for thread-jacking, but I have a small question.
Why is it desirable to have a super hot rocket flamethrower pyro's wet dream of a torch to light cigars? Just wondering (eek!). **Oh be gentle, its my first time hehe...**

I'm fond of Zippos, the look, the feel, the heft. I have a US Navy zippo with a Z-Plus insert and it works great.

Torches can be tempermental. There's a lighter repair expert somewhere here in the Jungle but I can't remember his name at the moment.

Re: What is a good newbie gorilla torch lighter?

Nibo's are great for the price. I keep them all over the place, and if I loose one then I don't feel bad.
Yea, they don't hold much fuel and with the triple flames they use what they have fast but will usually light 10+ cigars if kept purged prior to each refill.

I use these "super hot rocket flamethrower pyro's wet dream of a torch" to light my cigars because I'm usually outside and anything but a torch lighter can't stand up to a good windy day.

Re: What is a good newbie gorilla torch lighter?

The Prince/Blazer PB-207 from NextCigar.com is the probably the best performing lighter on the market, and only $27 shipped.

I have at least a dozen lighters, the PB-207 is hands down the best.

If the $27 is too steep for you get a Nibo Space 6 in the $10 range.

Re: What is a good newbie gorilla torch lighter?

I just started using a Zippo with the Z-insert. My B&M sells them for $10 plus tax (7%) so its about the same if I order via internet (with shipping) They work very well..get about 7-10 gars lit before a refill. A nice lighter and cutter are all part of the GAR experience

I find it more convenient to fix the burn of a canoeing cigar with a torch than a soft flame. I use mainly cheap Nibos.

They are quick, efficient, and largely wind resistant.

They're also incredibly handy for those times when you just have to be able to cut aluminum cans in half or solder your buddy's humidor closed

Re: What is a good newbie gorilla torch lighter?

I bought a single flame torch lighter from walmart for 2.36 or it might have been 2.86 it was made by the fluid company robison.(there at the check out counter) It has been a great lighter so far and for a few bucks if it goes out or you loose it your not out a fortune .
I was buying those 10.00 15.00 lighters but was having issues with them they would worked great at first but sure shit they went out .
