Any idea guys how many beads are needed for a 100-125 ct humi? I might wanna rip the green foam outta my humidifer to replace with a pantyhosue full of beads, then put that inside the black humidifer to look a little more professional. Kinda worried about this louisiana humidity...

Maybe less, one of the 2 oz. tubes should be plenty.

Do the guys do a split on .5 lb or whole lb beads every so often? Maybe I'll wait for something like that to pop up and go in on that deal. I dont care for the tube, i think the black humidifier box enclosed with beads will give the appearance of just a regular humidifier with the power of beads. Ill take 2 oz. of them just to be sure. Thx for quick reply icehog!

For my singles drawers, I opened up the black humidifier boxes, took out the sponge, filled them with beads and put them in to keep the unboxed smokes at 65%.
Haven't seen many bead "splits", but some guys will trade beads for smokes. Maybe a couple Newbs would want to split a bag of the beads.

Not sure on weight, been fine to keep 50+ in my drawers good....but remember that a 100 CT humi will not hold near that many cigars.

Did you need to use hose to keep the beads in the humidifier?

I just posted this in another thread. Go ahead and buy a pound. You will need them sooner or later.

I'd agree since you may add a hasty coolerdor or tupperdor and with the excess beads you can put it in service right away. Store any unused beads in an airtight glass jar or similar container, if you can't fit them all in your humi.

BTW: Using Viper's recommendation, which I'd trust totally, one pound will handle a box of 24"x24"x18" in volume or 150 quarts of volume...

I bought the bags Viper sells on the site....cheap, and more durable than hose.

Dave told me that two 4 oz tubes were plenty for my coolerdor (Colemann 54 qt=300-400 cigars).

you can use mesh filter bags from your local aquarium store, they work perfectly.

Re: How many beads for 100 ct. 1 lb or .5 lb?

i had a smaller 300 count humi, and when i did the math trying to figure out how big the inside was, it was under 1 cubic ft.
a pound of beads is designed for 5 cubic feet. i highly doubt that your 100 count humi somehow has 5 cubic feet for 1 lb of beads.

A 2 ounce tube is plenty. If you are concerned give me the interior dimensions and I will calculate the amount from those measurements.
