The stainless steal is supposed to be rust proof , as long as it is of good quality . My reason for using the plastic modified humidifier is that they are able to be attached to the lid of my humidor with the magnets on them .

Re: Converting humidifier to bead holder. How?

I glued in a cut strip of mosquito net instead of panty hose in my humi holders.

It worked out really well for me.

Anyone have any pics of what they did with the beads and humidifier for a better explanation.
Some of us are just slower than the rest.

Re: Converting humidifier to bead holder. How?

I just put the beads in pantyhose and lay in a plastic soap dish.

I keep all my beads in pantyhose no matter what the amount is. The pantyhose allows the beads to conform to any space like between boxes in my coolerdor or lay really flat in my regular humidor. They are easy to rehumidify and take up less space.

I agree Jerry. My coolidors just have the panyhose, no case. My humis tho have limited room and are pretty full, so I use the plastic case because there is already a spot for them, either inside the lid or just below the shelf lip on the ends. I don't mind putting freshly wettened beads on top of boxes in the coolidors, but the cases keep me from setting them directly on the cigars in the humis.

I keep a slot open for the beads in the bottom of my humi below the top tray. Mine humi has removable partitions so I just arranged them so I leave the very middle area large enough to keep my beads. Haven't had a problem with putting a wetted bag of beads in there yet but they aren't allowed to touch my cigars either.

I just use pantyhose in my cooler. Make sure they're new, don't want any panty funk.

Re: Converting humidifier to bead holder. How?

The beads are ok just on their own inside the pantyhose right? They don't "need" to be in a container? It's not going to mess with the cedar if they lay against it while a little wet?

Thats all the puck is that Mark sells at Cigarmony.com. He holds the beads in there with a very thin piece of very pourus foam.

I have one and it works great.
