Green Nasty Mold!!! #$%

And yellow too. And there might even be a variety of white. I opened the humi and did some close inspection. To my dismay I found the above colors on the cedar divider which also serves as a holder for the humidier. Anyways the wooden divider is well spotted with this gross stuff and I have no idea what to do. I've tried looking around but most information just tells you what you should do if the cigar has mold and does not speak of the wood.

I have just done a full inspection with all the cigars out. It appears that a few cellophane wrappers that were right beside the humidifiers. Other than that no cigars have mold and neither does the wood of the humidor itself (other than the divider).

So what do I do? Do I rub the wood down with alcohol and separate the suspect cigars?

To be honest I'm so short on time and so frustrated that I almost want to take the whole box and all burn it in my fireplace.

Any help would be much aprreciated.

Wipe down the wood with some glycol solution, and let it dry out under the sun. When I used passive humidification, propylene glycol solution was the magic touch to keep humidity under control.

I use propylene glycol solution, but the cigars were right up against the divider that housed the humidifer, and I think it did not allow enough circulation so that the environment in the divider was quite humid. Regardless I supressed the urge to dump my cigar collection (that urge was real) and found a guide of sorts. Take out all cigars, get a temporary humidor, wipe the exixting one with alcohol, dry it out, and reintroduce the cigars in 2-3 weeks. Just takes so much time...

You're on the right track... TIME is the key.

I screwed up last summer with a small humi... Both temps and humidity got a bit high, and the mold found a comfortable new home.

I pulled the stogies out, stuck them in a tupperdor... Went to work on the humi with about 1TB chlorine bleach in 4 oz. distilled water... Thoroughly rinsed with cloth and distilled water... Let it dry thoroughly... It's doing just fine now, and hasn't lost the cedar scent!
