Beads and a water pillow?
My small desktop humi with a 70% puckifier has not gotten above 59% in about a month now and I refill it like every other day it seems. Don't think its anything other than cold dry weather this winter. Hygros correct and it stays humid enough in warmer seasons.
Was wondering if one or two water pillows will do the trick in there with the puck or will the drier beads just absorb its moisture? thanks. Last edited by Schecter30; 01-22-2009 at 02:36 PM.. |

Re: Beads and a water pillow?
I've supplemented my humidor during the drier months with water pillows before and found it to be effective. The beads are a two-way system that seeks to maintain 65-70% RH in the environment, so the only way they should absorb some of the water is if the humidity gets above the target range. The problem in the winter is that the beads expell their moisture more quickly due to dryness, draining themselves trying to keep the humidity up. If you add a water pillow and properly charge the beads, it should lengthen the time between bead re-charges.
